Sheldon the Sea Genie – Dead Man’s Point

Sheldon the Sea is a zany sea genie featured on the live-action NBC Saturday morning children’s fantasy series SIGMUND AND THE SEA MONSTERS (1973-75).

Sheldon (Rip Taylor) lives in the ocean near Dead Man’s Point, where local boys Johnny and Scott Stuart had built a secret coastal clubhouse. Inside the clubhouse resides Sigmund Ooze, a friendly little sea monster who doesn’t want to scare anyone.

“Have no care, Sheldon will be there!”

Sheldon the Sea Genie is Sigmund’s friend and helps him with his troubles, which includes Sigmund’s family who want to capture him and force him to be mean.

Occasionally, Sheldon’s nephew, Shelby will visit and get involved in the action.
