Woody the Gnome

Woody the Gnome is the mascot for the annual Little Woody Barrel Aged Beer, Cider & Whiskey Festival presented by Bigfoot Beverages in Bend, Oregon the “Mountain Town that has it all.”

Designed for serious beer enthusiasts, The Little Woody was created to commemorate one of Central Oregon’s cultural hallmarks – craft beers.

The festival features beers and ciders aged in wine barrels, whiskey barrels and oak barrels that create unique flavors and makes the beer much stronger with a 14-15% alcohol content.

In addition to having the barrel-aged beers, The Little Woody also has a selection of regularly brewed beers with lower alcohol contents, as well as some regional Bourbons.

Visitors to the festival are given the chance to sample more than a dozen small-batch beers from the Northwest’s most popular breweries, including stouts, sours, as well as beers aged in brandy barrels with ingredients like wood chips, fruits and wild yeasts.

The two-day festival is held in early September on the lawn of the Des Chutes Historical Museum, the Little Woody festival hosts live music with bands from Blue Grass, country, and other popular genres. The bands use all wooden instruments to add to the organic feel of The Little Woody.

NOTE: The Rogue Valley Fermentation Celebration (Aka, The Big Woody) is held in the Spring of the year at Harry and David Field (2929 S. Pacific Highway in Medford, Oregon.
