Goblin Soap – Hygiene product manufactured in the early part of the 20th Century (1910s-20s) by the Cudahy Packing, Co. USA, the makers of Puritan Hams, Bacon, Lard and Beef Extract.

Advertisements  for Goblin Soap appeared in the magazines of the time, like The Saturday Evening Post. The ads displayed tiny goblin characters with wings. The boxes for the actual product featured a goblin holding a bar of soap and the slogan: “Works Wonders.” Large cakes of soap sold for only 5 cents.

Born in Philadelphia, Jerome Alphonse Holst worked 30 years as a librarian. He has since retired and lives in Greensboro, North Carolina.
